Boxing

So today I want to talk about boxing mostly.

I haven't really blogged lately and I guess it's time to start doing it more often so here we go.

Haye v Bellew

I decided to purchase the Sky Box Office boxing fight at the weekend against these 2 heavyweights. I enjoyed and a couple of the under card fights were also exciting. Haye ended up having tendon problems in the 6th round, before that I'd say Bellew was slightly ahead. Haye seemed quite sluggish and not at his usual best, obviously the injury made the fight one sided but hats of to Haye for keeping going and not giving up. It all came to an end in the 11th round when Haye got knocked down through the ropes and could hardly get back up and through them for the count, he did manage to scrape back into the ring standing but his corner threw the towel in. He was going to get badly beating up, he could hardly stand at this point. I do think he would have lost the fight regardless but this 100% stopped Haye from getting anything going.

Boxing is a tough sport and I wouldn't advise the majority to do it for a living, do the training by all means but I just don't think it's a good idea to become a boxer. If you really want this though and that is your dream then by all means go for it, I just feel that it's a very gruelling sport. I do love watching it though, it's thrilling and I have no problem from an integrity perspective as boxers sign up for this.

It's also the same with poker, very few players make it in this game over the long haul, any specific career is always going to have those legends or those very smart ones but majority aren't cut out for them.

Poker has been going well lately. I've had to use quite a bit of my winnings so been cashing out a lot lately but hoping to get back up to 5nl quick soon. I'm still trying to balance my life outside poker more as in the past with it, I have had several periods of burnout and stopped playing for couple months. I do love this game, maybe not quite as much as when I first got into it but that's because I've made it into a side income. I'd eventually like to make a full time living out of it but there is no rush for that, as long as I am able to play this game I'll be happy.

No Fap Challenge

I've been reading up on No Fap a lot lately and tried it out, it helps for sure, I feel more in the present, more confident and more productive, funny how I don't mention girls there. See for me it does help with girls but I see that as a byproduct to the overall picture. It's something I want to get into more in the future and feel it has a lot of benefits in general and will connect me better with people. See I have a very creative mind and I'm very good with spending time alone, however I have no problem overall socialising with people and to be honest that's when I'm at my happiest. My point is I'm very good at handling time on my own, like those long hours spent playing poker online

So my plan for today is do a bit of poker studying, then do a workout. Tonight I will play a few poker tourneys and then watch a movie with my Dad. We usually make Monday a Netflix movie night, the odd comedy but a lot of crime thrillers lately. The rest of the week I will be grinding at the tables and spending time with my dog. Got family stuff on at the weekend and I'll try to fit in some time with my friends. All about finding that balance.
